Nominate outstanding farmers under 40

Outstanding Young Farmers Program logo

A couple combining a picture-perfect dairy farm with local tourism. A young family running a traditional poultry operation with non-traditional beekeeping. Brothers focusing on fresh local food, managing livestock and grain with their butcher shop and commercial kitchen. What do these operations have in common? They are all run by farmers under 40, they all exemplify excellence in agriculture, and they are all previous finalists in the Outstanding Young Farmer’s program.

The Outstanding Young Farmer’s Program is an opportunity for producers to network across Canada with other nominees. The program seeks to recognize those who promote the tremendous contribution of agriculture and rural Canada. They are judged according to:

-Progress made in their agricultural career

-Environmental and safety practices

-Contributions to their community

-Management and financial practices

-Must be farmers under 40 as of 2020

They announce provincial finalists June 18th at Canada’s Farm Progress Show in Regina, SK. The National Awards Program is in Saskatoon, SK on December 2-6 this year.

At Dutch Openers, we work with incredible farmers and operations every day and are proud to be a gold sponsor of this program.
